Hello there,

I hope you’re doing great. Thank you for being patient; we really need to work on sending these emails more regularly. It will happen, I promise.

So, what have we been up to lately?

We have been hard at work releasing and promoting our eBook, building a community, developing our future products and finding amazing, like-minded people who, hopefully, you’ll hear from on X or in our podcast.

Why the Mindfulway story?

Lately, Michal and I have been discussing what success means to us, and we decided to dedicate this newsletter and the corresponding podcast episode to sharing the Mindfulway story.

We wanted to share how we created Mindfulway and what it meant for our self-improvement journey. In the podcast episode (linked below), we go through building Mindfulway step-by-step and share our challenges, wins and lessons and what these mean to us personally.

You might have a project you always wanted to start or an idea you always wanted to pursue, but life got in the way. Perhaps you are still searching for your purpose. Either way, we think sharing our story will help inspire you in one way or another.

What is success?

Success is a word you often hear, but it means something else for everyone. It’s usually used in scenarios where we talk about reaching a goal, something final, a finish line.

Because we believe that self-improvement is a lifetime journey without a finish line, where success lies in the small wins. And we realized that there are a lot of similarities between starting a project like mindfulway and being on a journey of self-improvement.

If you have a purpose, a message, or a mission, you must commit to building that business as you would improve yourself as part of your life mission.

What keeps you going in your self-improvement journey is the same that keeps you committed to your purpose: celebrating small wins. Instead of seeing success as something far in the distant future, realize everyday accomplishments as success.

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out”

Robert Collier

What we have learned from building mindfulway

We had never built anything like Mindfulway before, so we knew it would be a long road full of lessons, failures, and experiments that would require commitment.

Here is what we have learned so far and how these add to our self-improvement.

  1. Embrace the Journey, Not Just the Outcome

Success isn’t a single moment or achievement; it’s found in the daily process of growth and progress. By focusing on the small steps and celebrating incremental wins, we’ve stayed motivated, knowing that each step brings us closer to larger goals.

  1. Resilience and Adaptability Are Essential

Building something from the ground up is full of unexpected challenges. Our ability to adapt quickly and stay resilient has been key to overcoming obstacles, and each failure has been a valuable lesson that pushes us to improve.

  1. Consistency is Key

We’ve learned that steady, daily effort compounds over time to create significant results. Even on tough days, doing a little bit each day has helped us maintain momentum and keep pushing forward toward our goals. As Dan Koe says, one hour put in every day is 365 hours a year; that’s progress.

  1. Pursue What Aligns with Your Values

The journey becomes more meaningful when you work on something that truly resonates with your core values. This sense of alignment has helped us stay passionate and committed, even though we know the path is long and challenging.

  1. Patience Leads to Lasting Success

Success rarely happens overnight. We’ve learned to embrace patience and delayed gratification, recognizing that the most rewarding achievements often take years of effort and persistence.

  1. Everything Can Be Learned

We’ve encountered countless tasks we didn’t know how to do, but by maintaining a growth mindset, we realized that everything can be learned. This openness to learning and continuous improvement has made each step of the process feel achievable.

  1. Build for the Community, Not Just for Yourself

Mindfulway started as a way to share our personal growth journey, but it quickly became clear that there is huge value in building a community as well. Connecting with like-minded people has amplified the impact of our work and given it a greater purpose.

Our podcast discusses these points and many more, including personal stories, so if you’re interested, please check it out.

What does science say?

I’ve found this research paper examining the impact of entrepreneurship on self-improvement. It has shown that entrepreneurial passion can positively impact self-improvement success through several mechanisms:

  • Increased Psychological Capital: The study of 455 entrepreneurs found that entrepreneurial passion increases individual psychological capital, positively affecting entrepreneurial success. Psychological capital includes factors like resilience, optimism, and self-efficacy.

  • Persistence and Goal-Orientation: Passionate entrepreneurs demonstrate a stronger tendency toward goals and are more willing to persevere in the face of challenges to develop their ventures. This persistence is crucial for overcoming obstacles and achieving success.

  • Enhanced Cognitive Flexibility: Passion towards purpose can influence entrepreneurs' cognition through motivational and emotional channels, improving cognitive flexibility and triggering improvements in reaching goals.

The takeaway message

Firstly, success is not the outcome; success is being on a journey that inspires. It means taking small steps every day, overcoming and learning from difficulties, remaining optimistic about the future despite the long journey ahead, and most importantly, not forgetting to celebrate those small wins that give a taste of future, bigger outcomes.

Secondly, self-improvement is everywhere. If you keep an open mind and reflect often, lessons are everywhere, like, in our case, building mindfulway. Every experience in life holds a lesson, an opportunity for us to see it as part of our journey to becoming our best selves.
